There is something about white candlesticks that screams Christmas to me! So I made washi tape candle holders to match my festive decor.
Can you believe Christmas is only about 10 days away? Can you also believe that I’m still finding a little bit of (like barely) time to decorate more? I hardly ever use candle holders.
When you’re a mama, you tend to lean towards the smelly good candles you can keep on a high shelf than the elegant candlesticks. Yet there is something about white candle sticks that screams holiday to me.
So I remade a simple white candle holder to match my festive decor. Here’s how to make this simple DIY holiday candlestick.
I lightly cleaned the surface with a napkin just to brush any small particles off the surface. I then took a pretty red Dahlia patterned tape roll and covered the top half of the candle holder. What? Dahlia’s aren’t seasonal? Oh well. It’s still a super gorgeous pattern!
I then took a lovely red quatrefoil patterned tape and created two strips in the center of the candle holder, leaving room in the middle to use the floral tape. It had kind of a vintage china feel so I decided to edge the candle holder with more floral tape.
From a distance, you can’t even tell it’s washi tape! It looks classy and sophisticated. I’m looking forward to hitting up the thrift store to makeover more candle holders.
